The Sr. Specialist, Scientific
Communications is responsible for: developing and creating scientific materials
(examples: Abstracts, Papers/Posters, Manuscripts, Data on File documents,
Clinical Value Dossiers, etc.) to support Global Medical Affairs’
communications initiatives for internal and external distribution and
Senior Specialist Scientific Communication
- This includes creating response documents
to unsolicited requests for medical information.
- This position also requires creating
comprehensive summary reports that encompass all lines of businesses and products (Cataract,
Refractive, and Corneal).
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to
align priorities with clinical messaging.
- Will interface with external HCPs /
customers to provide publication support and respond to inquiries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences,
Journalism, Communications, English, Public Relations, or related field.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of
medical and science terminology – preferably in Ophthalmology
- Demonstrated ability to develop and
maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as HCPs and customers,
as well as internal cross-functional teams within the organization, including
Clinical R&D, Regulatory, Compliance, and Commercial groups
- Proven ability to develop scientific
materials for internal and external dissemination: peer reviewed and/or trade
articles, scientific articles and more, which clearly, accurately, and
concisely present topical scientific content
- Minimum 3 years of communications and/or
- Outstanding written, verbal, and
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple
projects and priorities simultaneously and function in a fast-paced
environment, but maintain a keen eye for detail
- Work well in a team environment, but also
able to work independently and be results driven.
