The Sr. Specialist, Scientific Communications is responsible for: developing and creating scientific materials (examples: Abstracts, Papers/Posters, Manuscripts, Data on File documents, Clinical Value Dossiers, etc.) to support Global Medical Affairs’ communications initiatives for internal and external distribution and consumption.


Senior Specialist Scientific Communication will:

  • This includes creating response documents to unsolicited requests for medical information.
  • This position also requires creating comprehensive summary reports that encompass all  lines of businesses and products (Cataract, Refractive, and Corneal).
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align priorities with clinical messaging. 
  • Will interface with external HCPs / customers to provide publication support and respond to inquiries.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Journalism, Communications, English, Public Relations, or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of medical and science terminology – preferably in Ophthalmology
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as HCPs and customers, as well as internal cross-functional teams within the organization, including Clinical R&D, Regulatory, Compliance, and Commercial groups
  • Proven ability to develop scientific materials for internal and external dissemination: peer reviewed and/or trade articles, scientific articles and more, which clearly, accurately, and concisely present topical scientific content
  • Minimum 3 years of communications and/or writing experience
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and function in a fast-paced environment, but maintain a keen eye for detail
  • Work well in a team environment, but also able to work independently and be results driven.
