We are looking for highly skilled, self-motivated, exceptional Senior Systems Engineer to help us scale our organization and our infrastructure in support of a rapidly growing business. This position will be part of our Systems and Storage Implementation team within Global Operations.
Responsibilities: Develop automation tools to support growing infrastructure and provide reporting and APIs for various applications used at LinkedIn. Work with internal Product Owners and Legal to ensure emails are in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Monitor email deliverability, create and interpret deliverability reports, work with business units to provide the best user experience while adhering to strict deliverability standards. Help protect our users from fraudulent email. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with mail routing and deliverability. Foster relationships within the industry at ISPs and LinkedIn's other partners, both directly and through representation in organizations such as MAAWG. Attention to detail: Candidate lives by the mantra, "The devil is in the details" and takes great pride in getting it right.
Basic Qualifications: BA/BS Degree or equivalent practical experience 5+ years of Systems Engineering (administration, configuration, troubleshooting, architecture) 2+ years experience administering at least one of these email platforms: Message Systems Momentum, Exchange, Gmail 2+ years experience with email authentication and policy enforcement mechanisms (DKIM, SPF, DMARC). 2+ years of experience working with email flow of volume in excess of 10 million messages/month Experience with DNS configuration and troubleshooting as it relates to email. Experience working with a major mail reputation service such as Return Path, Agari, SURBL, or similar. Experience with networking (IP and IPv6, switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls, iptables, subnetting, anycast). Experience with Bash, Lua, Python, or Ruby
Preferred Qualifications: Strong thought leadership in the email domain Experience with feedback loops (FBL) and bounce handling. Experience with configuration management using CFEngine (preferred), Puppet, Chef, etc. Ability and willingness to work on-call and respond to production failures. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment while successfully balancing multiple, sometimes competing, priorities. Strong desire to proactively solve problems and work collaboratively to improve the scalability, supportability, and sustainability of the infrastructure. Superior troubleshooting skills.
