YOUR MISSION:
 
Responsible for assisting with the definition of end-to-end solutions architecture for complex Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).  Particular focus on DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communications) / Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) /Vehicle to Interface (V2I) / Vehicle to Everything( V2X) /Cloud analytics system design and implementation. Assists Staff Systems Engineer with providing an achievable development solution within defined procedures and practices, design parameters, and timing requirements.
 
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
 
  • Utilizes knowledge of DSRC, V2X, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), Computer Vision, Connected Services, Wi-Fi, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and large scale IT system deployments to lead a team to develop and field a system to provide value to the traveling public.
  • Works with stakeholders to understand requirements.
  • Focuses on DSRC / V2V / V2I / V2X / Cloud analytics system architecture definition, design and implementation.
  • Manages top level technical architecture and subsystem definition, including coordinating/managing the development of multiple interface control documents and specifications.
  • Leads cross-functional teams in architecture discussions including high level system structure and system design impacts.
  • Works with technical leads to compile and evaluate alternative design options.
  • Ensures best practices are followed.
  • Interprets and complies with Company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Prepares reports, charts, graphs, and other statistical information.
  • Initiates, recommends, and/or provides solutions through designated channels.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
MUST HAVES:
 
  • Four-year College Degree in at least one STEM major (Science; Technology; Engineering; Math) and a minimum of five (5) years of systems architecture experience; or a minimum of ten (10) years of ITS systems architecture.
 
Must have experience in one of the following:
 
  • Experience with embedded software and electronic product development.
  • Experience with cloud computing environments.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering Data Management Tools.
  • Experience with Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) 5.9 GHz connected vehicle system development and deployments.
  • Specific knowledge of DSRC standards in the United States.
  • ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems).
  • Large scale IT system deployments.
