Current Need
Technical Writer

Position Description

  • Researches, plans, organizes/designs, writes, & edits and produces audience-appropriate documentation (e.g., installation guides, user & technical manuals, & online help)
  • May research & write technical design specifications, flowcharts, & test scripts
  • May participate in user interface design and/or product testing
  • May acquire & organize source material, including applicable specifications & technical write-ups
  • May develop documentation plans & time estimates for complex projects
  • Establishes appropriate communication channels to acquire complete & correct information about the topics to be documented
  • May convert document artifacts from older technology to newer formats & solve related issues
 

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements
6+ years experience in technical writing

Critical Skills

-Advanced knowledge of technical writing

-Experience applying different writing styles & developing standards & templates for highly diverse audiences

-Very strong oral, interpersonal & written communication skills

-Proven effectiveness at managing multiple projects simultaneously

Additional Knowledge & Skills

 

-Experience with healthcare information systems

-Experience with required software tools (TFS, MadCap Flare, Adobe Technical Communication Suite, Microsoft Word)

-Experience with products being documented (McKesson Surgical Manager, McKesson Laboratory Management, and Paragon Emergency Department Management)

Education
4-year degree or related field or equivalent experience
