Within Global Technology and Operations (GTO), the centralized TechQA organization, tasked with all software testing, is looking for you to provide strategic leadership for the overall Test Delivery organization in the area of process, methodology, and metrics.  You will work in the Planning and Effective organization and you will partner with employees and vendors throughout TechQA and in other external process groups. As the Planning and Effectiveness group is a team that often shares responsibilities, there are key responsibilities for this role and other general responsibilities.


The GTO group is a diverse team of engineers, developers, and business and project managers with the freedom to create innovative solutions to core business challenges within MetLife.  TechQA is the centralized software testing organization.


Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • Provides technical expertise in the analysis, design and execution of testing processes. Possesses in-depth knowledge of infrastructure, testing tools, and various testing techniques and methodologies.
  • Leads and facilitates Process and Innovation Council
  • Provides training and mentoring on processes, metrics, methodologies
  • Ensures process compliance
  • Evaluates process effectiveness and identifies areas for improvement
  • Oversees the entire testing process set
  • Researches industry best practices and recommends or develops processes and measurements to continuously improve the organization.
  • Project management for planning, coordination, development and execution of process building and implementation, including training
  • Leads Software Quality Assurance auditing to ensure the processes are followed.
  • Interfaces with the overall process team outside of testing to ensure alignment.
  • Manage Process Site and document library for related documents; develop strategy to ensure documents are evergreen
  • Partner with vendor to implement “train the trainer” strategy
  • Collaborate with team members, offer strategic, value-add solutions and implement themCreate presentations for and/or present to senior leadership as needed
    • Having skills and filling in for other functions in the Planning and Effectiveness group, which includeVendor and contract management
    • Demand and Intake management
    • Financial Oversight
    • Service Performance
    • General Governance functions




Other General Responsibilities of this position:

Required Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge of software development life cycle, infrastructure, products and services and IT portfolio and program management.
  • Extensive expertise in process management
  • Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of systems development, testing and/or business experience or related work experience
  • 2 years Project Management experience, PMP desired.
  • In-depth knowledge of infrastructure, testing tools, and variety of testing techniques and methodologies.
  • Excellent understanding of system design processes, methodologies, and testing tools.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Good to Intermediate experience in building Powerpoint presentations and presenting to various levels of the organization
  • Good working experience in MS Excel, Word, Visio


Preferred Experience: 

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field preferred

  • Experience in Software Quality Assurance auditing

  • Experience with all lifecycles, including Agile, DevOps, Waterfall

  • MS Project
