The Senior Tool & Mold Maker II researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems, such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production transmission measurement and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines and/or machines. Provide mold tooling and machining support and service to IOL Research and Development projects and program.

• Supports the success of the function and teams within the function by providing effective technical services and accurate information for overall effectiveness.

• Interacts with internal and external contacts to provide clear straightforward effective and factual communication and information.

• Resolves limited and non-routine problems as required Maintains a broad awareness of the roles of immediate team members and the work function.

• Provide mold tooling and machining support and service to IOL Research and Development projects and program.

• Prepare molds, fixtures, jigs and machinery based on work orders and drawings.

• Set up, operate and perform close tolerance work using manual and complex Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment in a safe manner.

• Provide documentation of tooling, fixtures and molds produced ensuring tolerances are met.

• Determine sequence of operations, methods of fabrication and type and amount of machine work or process operations required and supply any information lacking in design, print or sketch and suggest revisions in design and/or substitution of materials.

• Lays out dimensions, angles, hole patterns, and contours on raw materials as a guide for machining and fabrication operations, using trigonometry to solve inter-related dimensions in more than one plane.

• Proficiency in the English language
• 4 years directly related experience. 8-10 years of general machining experience preferred
