The Brooklyn House Counsel represents MetLife's insureds in lawsuits that are venued in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Staten Island. We strive to ensure exceptional and ethical legal representation to our clients by providing an aggressive defense, prompt and thorough communication to our customers, thorough preparation for ADR and trial and adherence to Litigation guidelines.
•Decision-making ability to set work priorities and make recommendations for an individual case load of 90-100 cases.
•Ability to defend MetLife’s insureds in courts in several venues.
•Able to provide comprehensive reporting pursuant to the ligation guidelines.
•Skilled in case management with problem solving and negotiation abilities in casualty and No Fault.
•Experienced in taking and defending depositions, mediations, arbitrations and trials.
8+ years’ experience in insurance defense including motor vehicle accident, premises liability, No-Fault, Subrogation and property damage cases
•Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school with NYS bar admission
•Required to have comprehensive knowledge of property, premises, no fault, and casualty litigation and trial and deposition experience.
•Analytical ability to interpret statutes, regulations, insurance policies and case law.
•Proficient in motion practice and litigation advocacy.
•Adept in planning, executing, and controlling investigations, valuations and final disposition of cases and in providing accurate assessments of liability and damages, anticipating substantive and procedural issues and preparing solutions.
