Develop digital designs for prototypes of next generation wireless modem standards and technologies. Responsible for the definition, design, implementation and verification of complex digital modem blocks and sub-systems as part of 5G modem FPGA/ASIC development. Interpret complex algorithms with the ability to provide feedback and alternatives. Project deliverables include micro-architecture designs, RTL code, simulation models, testbenches and associated documentation. Support firmware and RF teams with verification and bring-up of FPGA and ASIC modem prototypes, working closely with standards and algorithm teams to develop cutting edge wireless solutions and achieve program goals. Mentor junior engineers in a team environment.

Some travel would be required among sites, especially the first year.
BS or MS in electrical or computer engineering, with 3 of experience in digital design and verification, digital communications, and signal processing.
Candidate should have 3 years of experience with the following:
-Experience in VHDL/Verilog RTL design, simulation and verification for FPGA platforms
-Knowledge of wireless communications systems and standards, including LTE (FDD/TDD) and UMTS. Experience in modem design and verification.
-Experience with revision control systems such as Clearcase or GIT
-Debug and analytic skills
-Experience with Quartus and Synplify Pro synthesis
-Experience with scripting languages such as TCL, Python, or Perl
-Experience in VHDL/Verilog RTL design, simulation and verification for ASIC development
-Experience with VCS, Verdi, and Spyglass
-Experience with DPI-C, SystemVerilog, UVM
-Experience with C/C , Python, Matlab and/or other simulation and modeling tools/languages
-Experience with Linux/Unix operating system
