Job Description
Eaton is currently seeking a Shipping & Logistics Supervisor.  The Shipping & Logistics Supervisor will be based at our Shawnee, OK facility. 
 
Position Overview:
As the Shipping & Logistics Supervisor, you will coordinate the day-to-day operations of all aspects of logistics (i.e., distribution, inventory control, order fulfillment, material handling, etc.) to ensure it gets completed in a safe and efficient manner. This position is responsible for supervising hourly employees to deliver excellence to our customers and meet assigned deadlines.
 
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Proactively implement, promote, and maintain a safe working environment through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance, and accountability.
  • Manage department operations and prioritize requirements to meet customer delivery (OTD 95%+) and quality commitments (Zero Shipping Errors).
  • Arrange warehousing and transportation of product to customer. May investigate and respond to inquiries regarding distribution and shipping.
  • Own all aspects of plant logistics including receiving, put away, warehousing, material handling, material movement, transactions, outside paint process, and packaging strategy.
  • Collaborate and engage with the production scheduling, supplier scheduling, and production team to meet customer expectations and address issues.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and solutions to drive inventory record accuracy >95%.
  • Conduct inventory audits in order to monitor production and plant inventory levels.
  • Facilitate training and workforce flex activity in coordination with other department supervisors.
  • Work with the Supply Chain Manager and leadership team to determine staffing requirements/strategy.
  • Communicate company policies, procedures, and guidelines and ensure they are consistently practiced.
  • Coordinate/maintain employee attendance records, overtime equalization, vacation, training and time-off requests.
  • Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work processes are followed and countermeasures are implemented as appropriate.
  • Fully engage workforce and drive change by empowering employees with decision making, problem solving tools, and involvement.
  • Direct continuous improvement teams in working on projects that make a positive impact in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture.
  • Lead cross functional teams to achieve rapid business improvements (Kaizen Events, Rapid Improvement Events).
  • Conduct daily and monthly department meetings regarding department/plant performance, communications, and goals.
  • Lead distribution technician and material handling teams over 3 shifts.  Engage with off shift supervisors and shipping team leads to ensure support for employees across all shifts and weekends.


Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/materials/distribution environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business or technical field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/materials/distribution environment.
  • Experience in materials, distribution, logistics and/or manufacturing.

Position Criteria:

  • Proficiency with excel including macros, pivot tables, formulas, etc.
  • Knowledge of machining, lean manufacturing, production planning, quality methods, or OSHA requirements.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and off shifts based on business needs including month end.
