The Associate Disability Claims Examiner is responsible for:
Primary duties include calculation of Short Term Disability (STD) benefits according to Plan Provisions. This position requires the knowledge and understanding of STD policies and procedures to appropriately calculate the STD benefits due and manage the duration of a disability absence.
Follows through timely on plans.
Utilizes judgment and assesses risk when rendering claim decisions.
Documents all claim information including phone calls and correspondence.
Utilizes effective communication to obtain information both verbally and in writing, and provides information to the claimant and employer.
Ability to apply plan provisions.
Manages the needs of the clients.
May coach new associates.
Performs other duties as assigned.
