Simulation Artist (Temp)

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a motivated and experienced cloth and hair simulation artist to join its award winning cinematics department. The ideal candidate would be a highly driven artist who has experience with shot simulation production work. He / she must have a good eye for motion and timing, understand cloth and hair behavior, dynamic forces and simulation settings, and be able to translate feedback into the aesthetic standards required. The artist should also be familiar with character cleanup work and understand how to address deformation and intersection issues. Our team works in an intensely art driven environment and the candidate must be able to work collaboratively with other departments including modeling, animation, FX, and lighting.

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience with cloth and hair simulation in Maya, or similar software
  • Artistic eye for cloth and hair motion
  • Familiar with character simulation pipelines and workflow techniques
  • Able to perform character finaling
  • Proficient in technical problem solving

  • History of generating cloth / hair rigs
  • Familiar with animation and deformation character rigging
  • Understanding of cloth patterns and cloth properties
  • Strong communications skills
  • Passion for Blizzard games and cinematics
