Role Summary:

The Lynn site is a large, complex aerospace facility, where we engineer, manufacture, assemble, test, and service jet engines and components for military and commercial use. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization and site, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, contribute to the overall business strategy.

Essential Responsibilities:

At the business level :

+ Site Security Leader for the Lynn facility demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives.

+ Provide a safe and secure workplace for the employees, contractors, visitors and suppliers to the site and GE off-site locations in the local area

+ Lead a team of 23 union represented security officers that support a continuous operation

+ Actively participate in site threat assessment and emergency response teams

+ Partner with business leaders and HR to set site security strategy

+ Ensure protection of government classified information and company proprietary information

+ Manage the activities of a diverse organization comprised of a professional staff, front line personnel, and contract agencies within the Security organization

+ Ensure compliance with all government regulatory requirements relative to Security and Fire Protection

+ Design and implement emergency response plans and maintain the Crisis Management Center for the site

+ Serve as liaison to local, state and federal law enforcement and government regulators

+ Maintain emergency communications for GE business worldwide through the Security Communications Hotline Center

+ Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability studies

+ Determine manpower/budget needs within the organization

Qualifications/Requirements:

+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Security)

+ Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience in a security, government or industrial field

Desired Characteristics:

+ Bachelor's degree in management, criminal justice, or law enforcement is preferred

+ Well-rounded understanding of total quality management techniques

+ Knowledge of Department of Defense Industrial Security requirements

+ Strong oral and written communication skills

+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

+ Working knowledge of O.S.H.A. requirements for emergency responders and hazmat technicians

+ Experience setting and executing the security strategy for an organization
