Nationwide Insurance is hiring a Project Management Consultant with the SIU Organization in the Phoenix/Scottsdale AZ region. This person will be responsible for the design, implementation and management of anti-fraud/anti-crime projects in a multi-state geographic region. This individual will serve as the liaison between Nationwide Insurance and local/state/federal law enforcement agencies, state/federal prosecutors, the National Insurance Crime Bureau, the departments of insurance in all assigned states, and other investigative entities within the assigned geographic region. Frequent multistate/overnight travel is a job requirement.The ideal candidate will possess the following personal and professional attributes:• A min of 5-8 years of law enforcement experience is required, with outstanding interpersonal/communication skills (both oral and written).• Demonstrated knowledge of current crime trends impacting the insurance industry in the Southwest region of the US relating to property crimes, auto theft, medical fraud, financial crimes, cargo/commercial losses and insurance fraud overall.• Demonstrated abilities in the design/implementation of proactive anti-fraud/anti-crime programs within the local, state and/or federal law enforcement community.• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with investigative/prosecutorial entities in both the public and private sectors on proactive anti-crime and/or anti-fraud initiatives to reduce insurance related crime.• Skilled experience in internal and external resource management, budgeting and cost containment.• General knowledge of SIU operations, the insurance industry and insurance fraud investigations.• Project management experience and/or project management certifications.• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice system, criminal statutes, and multi state anti-fraud regulatory/compliance issues.
JOB SUMMARY: Assists in the design, implementation and management of anti-fraud/anti-crime initiatives within the assigned geographic regions. Partners with regional Claims, SIU, Sales, and Underwriting organizations to identify opportunities for the implementation of innovative anti-fraud/anti-crime programs that will benefit the Nationwide Organization, our customers, and the community. Acts as a liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, state/federal prosecutors, state fraud bureaus, and the National Insurance crime Bureau on project requests and implementation.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the SIU Project & Training Director. No direct reports.
CORE JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Manages ongoing SIU business projects in assigned regions.
+ Networks with local/state/federal law enforcement entities, develops new relationships in key regions and assesses potential for pro-active investigative projects.
+ Attends monthly/quarterly meetings with NICB, Law Enforcement, Regional Anti-Crime/Anti-Fraud Task Forces, IASIU, or other industry related organizations to identify industry trends and partnership opportunities.
+ Interfaces with Nationwide's Claims, SIU, Sales, and Underwriting organizations to identify criminal/fraud trends and potential solution.
+ Coordinates business unit resources to identify strategic regional anti-fraud issues, designs processes and implements solutions. Maintains awareness of customer and systems requirements and conforms to those requirements
+ Develops and present regional/corporate fraud training, to Nationwide's SIU, Claims, Sales, and Underwriting Organizations.
+ Develops and control time lines, including regularly re-assessing risks, throughout project life. Revises project plans on an on-going basis to maintain alignment with other projects and the business strategy.
+ Responsible for internal and external resource management, budgeting and cost containment
+ Pursues continuous self-development in management techniques, project leadership, applied and conceptual technology and business/product environment.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Advanced degrees in law or related discipline desirable.
License/Certification/Designation: Successful completion of required claims certificationschools/courses. Professional development such as IIA or CPCU preferred. State licensing where required.
Experience: 5-8 years experience in special investigations involving insurance investigations, private investigations or law enforcement investigations and/or Property/Casualty field claims handling experience. Investigative experience of single line loss of property, material damage, casualty and commercial desired.
Knowledge: Knowledge of SIU operations and processes claims handling, insurance contract and legal issues, and fraud investigation techniques. Preferred experience with multistate laws, regulations and civil recovery. Knowledge of claims business operations including claims process, procedures, best practices, and service levels. Must possess knowledge of Property/Casualty Insurance, such as organization, structure, channels, and business focus for the Special Investigation Unit organization and company. Demonstrated knowledge of current investigative trends and awareness of potential developments impacting Special Investigation Unit. Comprehensive knowledge of State Fraud Statutes and Policy contracts across all businesses (e.g. Property, Casualty, Commercial)
Skills/Competencies: Oral and written communication skills for interaction with vendors, other SIU associates, SIU management, and other areas of claims; negotiation skills for vendor management, program management and/or claims quality calibration. Proven ability to meet customer needs and provide exemplary service by informing customers of the claims process and ensuring a positive customer experience. Proven organizational skills to effectively prioritize increased and more complex workloads. Ability to demonstrate strong but flexible standards and can act different, can be seen as balanced based on the conflicting demands of the position. Demonstrated leadership capabilities to effectively train, coach, and provide feedback to less experienced associates. Proven ability to operate personal computer with proficient use of claims and business software.
