Adecco has a client located in Milford that has an immediate need for someone with Fuji or Mydata machine experience.
Surface mount technology (SMT) machine operators work with SMT machines which solder small parts such as circuits, transformers, sockets, and other electronic components. Good manual dexterity is necessary to position, align, and place components for SMT machines, which must be tended by replenishing their supplies and programming them in an efficient manner. They must also monitor the output of machines to ensure quality, and maintenance and calibration are periodically necessary for these machines, as well as troubleshooting and simple repairs when machines are not functioning properly.
Prior assembly experience and soldering skills may be required for this position, though some jobs offer on-the-job training. Much of the work is done by the SMT machine, but some tasks must be performed manually, and this work usually takes place in a factory environment which may be loud and not temperature-controlled. It's important to consistently meet all productivity and deadline goals and ensure that the area is kept clean and free of hazards at all times, and machines should be prepared for the next job when possible to save time. SMT operators must also keep records and data of this output. Computer skills and the ability to use applications like Microsoft Word are necessary for this position, and a high school diploma is often a minimum requirement.
