Johnson & Johnson is recruiting full-time contract Social Media Manager. This individual will be a member for the Global Talent Acquisition team and will interact with a global team, while reporting to the Talent Engagement manager. The contract is for 6 months with potential for extension depending on the individual’s performance, business needs and budgets.

The Social Media Manager will formulate plans and strategies to utilize social media to its optimum level in order to increase the reach of the employer brand and talent engagement messaging through our active social media channels (currently: Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube). In addition to organic social content generation and monitoring, the social media manger will be responsible for generating and reporting on paid social media campaigns in support of strategic hiring initiatives.
The duties and responsibilities of a social media strategist are:
  • Creating social media strategies to support our talent engagement campaigns from a global perspective
  • Coordinate the different social media strategies and plan campaigns so as to make full use of the strategies
  • Develop, execute and measure paid social media campaigns
  • Maintain and manage our TA outbound content calendar and share with the stakeholders and team members for collaboration
  • Execute on strategies by developing the social content for use across our multiple channels and platforms
  • Monitor online trends and identify ways to leverage current topics of interest
  • Interact with stakeholder groups to understand and support their talent engagement needs and develop strategies to support their needs
  • Provide guidance to global team members on content generation, content curation, and community management
  • Collaborate with corporate communications for cross promotion initiatives
  • Work with Talent Acquisition team members to maintain engagement within social media by our team members, including support of training on use of Social Media, if needed
  • Keep in touch with the latest developments in the social media and incorporating those developments in strategy planning
  • Actively monitor all social media channels for mentions of JNJ and handle responses to inbound inquiries as needed
  • Continually expand upon a Response Management system to develop a catalog/data base of responses
  • Monitor and report on social media analytics on a weekly basis, including recommendations on ways to improve engagement.
  • Maintain SOPs for social media
This individual will be responsible for executing on Global Talent Acquisition Teams social media strategies, looking for ways to increase interactions and optimize content for sharing.

The role requires that this individual can provide guidance for each social media platform with respect to tonality, subject matter, frequency, and timing of posts. This individual will actively participate in a wide variety of social media actives such as blogging, community development and management, commenting, etc. and will be expected to stay well-connected with the broader social media world. This individual must be able to think strategically, but be willing and able to roll up their sleeves to help implement the programs.

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, media or other related fields is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of business experience is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience focused on blogging or social media is required.
  • Prior recruitment marketing/ career blogging experience is preferred.
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills are required.
  • Expert knowledge of social media platform, such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and Reddit is required.
  • An understanding of data analytics and associated tools – social listening platforms, web analytics, and search analytics is required.
  • Experience with social media and Content Management Systems (CMS) enterprise tools, such as, but not limited to: Sprinklr, Spreadfast, Synthesio, Percolate, HootSuite, Tweetdeck is required.
  • Must be able to show a strong portfolio demonstrating social media experience.
  • Ability to think creatively in the social media space and present point of view to senior level audiences is required.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and track competing schedules; proactively anticipate and complete tasks; Advanced internet research skills with capacity to find and compile interesting and relevant content such as blog posts, photos coverage and videos is required.
  • Ability and willingness to work across departments with both internal and external contacts is a requirement.
  • Willingness to keep abreast of industry trends and technologies and contribute to best practices is essential to the success of this role.
