Social Media Strategist

IBM Global Technology Services ( GTS)  is the largest revenue producing IBM Business Unit. GTS' experts design, build and run the foundational systems the world relies on. GTS combines expertise and the power of Cloud and Cognitive Technology to deliver services that help clients transform their business.  GTS is looking to add a Social Media Strategist  to its digital marketing team in New York City. A passion for, and interest in social and digital marketing is a must.

This role will report to the GTS Director of Digital Marketing, and collaborates across a multi-functional team of marketing strategists, GTS executives, subject matter experts and agency partners  to  develop and execute winning social media strategies.
 
Successful candidates must be experienced social media managers with experience in digital marketing and in creating content on their own for social channels and experienced working directly with senior leaders. Additionally, they must be able to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, execute effectively against multiple projects and deadlines and demonstrate an ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, and exercise independent and sound judgment. Experience in technology companies, in areas including Cloud Services, Cyber Resilience, Digital Workplace, Data Protection, Network Services, is a plus.

Primary responsibilities
Develop and execute social media strategies to engage  buyers on key topics that align to GTS Services to achieve GTS Digital Marketing goals.
Develop a monthly plan that is orchestrated across social channels and supports GTS key priorities
Manage day-to-day activities for IBM GTS social channels; publishing content and engaging with influencers and followers
Partner with the digital strategists to create and optimize a digital ecosystem that captures and engages organic traffic
Conduct ongoing analysis and reviews of competitors, influencers, customers and trends to inform social media marketing strategies
Develop and execute custom programs for select GTS subject matter experts to build their eminence in the industry, i.e. create awareness for their ideas, increase engagement for their social handles, generate press and speaking opportunities in support of key business priorities
Continuously assess performance and develop monthly reports on key social media KPIs
Develop short-form content as needed  (write social posts, source images / assets, etc.)
Initiate and partner with creative teams to execute longer-form content (videos, blog posts, podcasts, etc.)
Proactively stay abreast of trends, industry best practices and case studies to enhance the knowledge base of the team, identify new tools and improve outcomes.
