The MSW/Family Support Coordinator will provide multi-disciplinary consultation for the management of high risk patients which include: patients with high risk lifestyle factors in pregnancy, maternal attachment and mothering disorders, infant mortality/morbidity, domestic violence, eating disorders, drug/alcohol use in pregnancy, drug exposed/dependent newborns, suspected child abuse, teenage pregnancy, adoption, suicide, overdose, homeless, alcoholism, breast cancer, fetal demise, HIV/AIDS, cardiac arrest, and psychiatric cases.
Ensures appropriate utilization of resources, facilities and services by the review of admissions, duration of stay, professional services rendered. For both inpatients and observation patients. Identifies patient discharge needs and works in collaboration with nurses and physicians in managing the patients care needs through the organization.
Education: Master's degree in Social Work.
Licensure/Certification: Licensed Social Worker in the state of Florida.
Experience: 3-5 years hospital social work experience.
