The Corporate Systems IT Tools team supports applications and tools that run the business of information technology at MetLife.   This includes, but is not limited to:  IT Risk, Business Resiliency, Security Access and Inventory & Application Portfolio Management.




The Software Development Engineer will be responsible for supporting large and small projects supporting the MetLife enterprise.  The main responsibilities will include:


  • Participate in business and technical meetings to gather requirements and produce:  workflows, wireframes, data and technical specifications. 
  • Scripting and programming as needed.
  • Interact with our IT business partners, developers, testing and other associated teams.  
  • Provides technical and analytical support and guidance to project team members.
  • Work with onshore and offshore technical resources as needed.
  • Collaborate with lead engineers and system architects to govern the standard IT toolsets and platforms.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or requested.



  • Excellent communications (written & oral), planning, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • 3-5 years systems analysis, technical design and data architecture.
  • 3 -5 years of experience in software development working with cross-functional teams and formal SDLC processes
  • 3-5 years of .NET or JAVA development and relational database (SQL) experience
  • 3-5 years of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other UI development tools.
  • Ability to work independently and keep projects on track.
  • The candidate must have experience adapting to an environment with periodic changing of business priorities.
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field
