Job Description
Eaton’s Lighting Division is seeking a Software Developer to join our engineering department. The Software Developer will be based at our Peachtree City, GA facility.  This is a hands-on development role that will directly contribute to the expansion of existing control products and development of our new lighting control products.

We are looking for a talented and creative problem solver.  You will be working in a dynamic and fast paced team environment, using your software engineering skills to deliver new products. You will be involved in the complete development life cycle, seeing your design evolve from a technical specification into a finished product. Detailed technical collaboration with the full cross-functional development team will require strong, ongoing communication.  Maintaining our market leading position will challenge your creativity and design skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance existing and/or develop new software that enables the launch of new products, functionality and services with technologies ranging from HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, including AngularJS.
  • Work with the other software development team members when coordinating on large projects.
  • Translate requirements into software in line with project vision.
  • Participate in the definition of both the functional and non-functional requirements of the system
  • Participate in design reviews and sprint planning.
  • Understand best-practice software architectures and software development processes.
  • Research, assess, and adapt to new technologies necessary for future enhancements of products.
  • Develop and Test High Performance Software.
  • Protect intellectual property through patent disclosures.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University
  • Hands-on programming experience in any one or more of the languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript or others
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science or closely related discipline.
  • Familiarity with web-based applications.
  • Familiarity using SQL queries to manipulate application data stored in a database.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and design principles.
  • Hands –on experience creating cross-browser user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript frameworks (AngularJS, jQuery (mobile), Bootstrap etc..), JSON, AJAX
  • Hands-on experience implementing automated testing in JavaScript, Java, .NET, or other testing tool, both unit tests and integration tests.
  • Experience with IOS, Android or other mobile app development.
  • Experience with revision control systems, preferably SVN or Git
