Fusion Applications Life Cycle Management organization with deliverables for Oracle Public Cloud (SaaS) offers opportunities to be part of a team testing critical software focused on enabling Fusion Applications inside the Cloud. The Fusion Applications Life Cycle Management team is responsible for creating test plan, specifications, execution, automation of various solutions to effectively manage the lifecycle of Fusion Applications, from enabling of low cost new deployments for cloud-based scenarios to efficiently managing existing deployments.
The focus of Fusion Apps System Testing team is to test all the lifecycle solutions before delivering to our Cloud customers in the following scenarios
Provisioning - This involves installing, configuring, deploying and removing application components. Given the number of Fusion Middleware components, as well as the number of dependencies in among Fusion application products, the provisioning framework's goal is to limit the need for a customer to install and configure these items on their own.
Patching - This involves validating the patching framework and different patches that are delivered to the fleet.
Upgrades - This involves upgrading the pod from one Fusion Apps release to another using the upgrade framework.
Lifecycle Tools - Projects involve testing and certifying various tools to be used to manage Oracle Public Cloud SaaS and On-premise env's. These tools cover password changes to the system, database, track the certificate expiry's and renewal, help in start/stop of the env, reassociation of Databases to the standby system to handle downtime.
High Availability and Scale out - Projects involve testing software systems in the domain of High Availability across various products in the Oracle stack (RDBMS, Middleware, VMs,etc) for Fusion Applications.
Content Movement - This involves downloading valuable real-life data from production into a test/staging environment (P2T). Create complete copies from one environment to another (Cloning). These tool have directly impact to the success of the Fusion Applications Cloud product offering: P2T tool allows real-life data to be downloaded to test for effective analysis, Cloning allows more than one test environment to be created with identical data - thus reducing the overall go-live timelines.
Disaster Recovery - For each saas customer env has been mandated to have the DR solution when they signup. The team is involved in testing Disaster Recovery Failover management systems and Backup and Recovery systems for a large number of customers availing SaaS services in the Oracle Public Cloud. Alongwith some of the existing products Oracle Data Guard - industry leader for enterprise data protection and extreme scalability , Oracle Site Guard - to manage end-to-end Disaster recovery systems across geographically distributed sites, Storage replication, snapshots and related technologies,etc.
As Fusion Apps system testing team, we are responsible for Fusion Apps SaaS Setups (OVM), High Availability, Enterprise Manager, Enterprise Deployment, and Lifecycle testing, which includes
• Design, implement, and execute test cases based on design specifications
• Develop automation framework in Perl, Java, Python.
• Develop programs in Java to automate test cases
• Execute, debug, and fix automated test suites
• Report bugs and track for a resolution
• Work with global development teams to build testing solutions and troubleshoot issues in order to deliver product in high quality
• Self-motivated with strong capability of fast learning, who can work different dev, QA, PM, Doc teams from FMW, FA, EMCC groups with minimum supervision.
• Excellent analytical and trouble shooting skills
• Ability and desire to learn new skills and take on new tasks
• Solid object-orientated programming skills, especially in Perl, Python
• Good team player and good written and verbal communication skills
• knowledge of Linux, Shell Script, Perl, Python, XML, SQL, and Oracle Database
• Previous software testing and automation experience is desired
• Experience with Oracle products (Database, Midtier, Apps) is a plus
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
