The Flash Storage (FS) system is a highly available, highly scalable,
multi-protocol, enterprise storage system.
We are looking for a talented individuals to join the Platform Services team as we expand to support future platforms. The Platform Services team is responsible for supporting and modifying the operating system and the services used by the product application code. The operating system used is Oracle Linux running on Intel based hardware. Services provided by the team include custom memory managers, high performance logging, diagnostics, internode message services and system devices drivers. Device drivers include both completely custom Fibre Channel and SAS drivers as well as
modifications to existing Linux Infiniband and Ethernet drivers. The team is also responsible for system BIOS modifications necessary to support a proprietary non-volatile RAM implementation. A strong knowledge of systems software is required along with willingness and ability to quickly learn new areas.
The candidate must be able to understand, develop and modify complex designs. They must also be able to document and communicate these designs to other members on the team. They will be proficient in all areas of computer architecture and systems design.
- Data Replication/Mirroring/Snapshots/CDP
- Experience with Data protection of Virtualized environments - VMware, XEN/KVM
- Storage De-duplication, Encryption, Compression - highly desired
- Cloud Technology (Especially IaaS (Storage)) and Object storage - highly desired
- Working knowledge of Application (Oracle, SQL, Exchange) integration for data protection
- Linux Kernel internals, Linux Containers
- Infiniband Protocol and Driver experience
- Python, C, C
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
