We are a small group of engineers who work on the next generation storage product for Oracle. We are set to develop the next generation architecture with the emphasis in scalability, performance, high availability, storage efficiency/quality of service and data life cycle management. We are looking for talented individuals to join this small and energetic team. The work involves developing market differentiating features in NAS File System, Data Protection, and NAS Protocols.
As a Principal Software Developer, this person will participate in the design, implementation, debug and support of Oracle's FS1 NAS product lines. Specific duties include design, implement and unit test File System features. Projects include enhancing file system layout structures for performance and scalability, enhancing file system journal subsystem for faster recovery, adding Interfaces to support NFS and CIFS protocols, analyzing and fix system performance issues, adding data protection features such as synchronous and asynchronous remote replication. In addition, this position needs to provide crucial and timely support for customer escalations, provide mentorship to other engineers, and coordinate work with other teams on larger scale projects.
Strong programming in C, strong debugging in embedded system environment, understand the basic building blocks of an advanced modern file system, strong written and speaking communication skills are must.
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
