This position is cross functional and provides technical (processing and topology) and client facing exposure. The QA Software Developer works with internal and external clients in preparation of the certification cycle. The QA Software Developer is expected to contribute guidance to internal and external clients in preparation of the certification cycle. Other cross functional responsibilities provide exposure to both technical and client facing partners. The role provides an opportunity to grow in a position that contributes to the overall technical and client facing support.

Essential Job Responsibilities:  

The QA Software Developer is responsible for gathering technical and topology information from internal and external clients in preparation of a certification cycle. This position receives client specific technical information and is responsible to ensure downstream resources can create configurations based upon this information, in a test environment, to be used during certification and/or the client’s regression testing.  This information is also leveraged to deploy solutions to a production environment. The QA Software Developer provides technical support and guidance throughout the process. The QA Software Developer has daily interaction with external clients as well as internal departments. Performs other duties as required, such as (but not limited to):

  • Independently test major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver complex changes in an object oriented JAVA and J2EE environment.
  • Follow approved life cycle methodologies, create design documents, and perform testing.
  • Interact with peers and internal users regarding timelines, technical issues, and infrastructure integration.
  • Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.

Client Interaction:

  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to internal and external clients.
  • Lead specification reviews, lead client/vendor facing discussions and address all technical questions.
  • Assist with defining connectivity options and details.
  • Support internal/external project status meetings.

Required Qualifications: Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.

Job Related Experience:

  • 3 year’s experience in requirements analysis, design, coding and unit testing of scalable, n-tier, fault-tolerant applications in UNIX environments.
  • 3 year’s of prior experience required in object-oriented design methodology and application development in JAVA and J2EE
  • 3 years experience with:
  • HTML, Struts2.x
  • Web Services using Axis 2.x
  • Oracle Database
  • Oracle Coherence 3.6 / write-behind JPA cache-configuration
  • EJB3
  • Eclipselink / JPA 2.0
  • Jsp
  • Spring
  • Hibernate
  • XML and schemas
  • Financial Industry experience preferred
  • Transaction Processing experience preferred

Additional Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to analyze code, de-bug, and deliver clean, validated, maintainable code.
  • Excellent understanding of the web development project cycle. Accustomed to rigid QA processes and extreme attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Able to work independently and multi-task.
  • Able to explain technical information in non-technical terms.
  • Able to work in a team environment, with internal and external customers.
  • Able to conduct multi-channel communications (email, phone, chat, and in-person) clearly and courteously with both external and internal customers.
  • Effective time management skills.
