Software Development Manager
The Communications Global Business Unit is looking for a highly motivated candidate to manage their R&D Lab in the Bedford, MA facility. The qualified candidate will be critical to managing the complex support operations required to develop Session Border Controllers, Virtual Session Boarder Controllers, and other products at the Bedford site. Additionally, the lab manager of the Bedford site will be responsible for the business continuity planning, replication / disaster recovery of critical business systems for the Bedford facility.
The Lab manager will also serve as the liaison between Global IT and Facilities for day to day operations/maintenance of the R&D labs while ensuring security compliance with GIT site network policies. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, staffing, personnel performance management/development, planning, procurement, and implementation of new hardware purchases and technologies required to run a secure, cost effective lab environment.
Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.
Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically one year of software engineering or related experience.
