As a part of the Windows Device Group (WDG) the Universal Store (UST) team enables one of Microsoft’s most business critical needs: electronic monetization of products and services. Indeed, UST powers all of Microsoft’s key businesses - Azure, Office 365, XBOX, Bing Ads, Windows Phone, a Windows App Store, to name just a few. Whatever the business Microsoft is in, monetization will be a critical part. With a global presence in over 240 markets, close to 150 million transactions a day, and approximately a half billion dollars of revenue processed per month, UST services need to be true internet scale and have state of the art availability, reliability and responsiveness. UST is in continuous agile evolution, through a services-oriented engineering model, in which the overall solution consists of well integrated but loosely coupled and independent services. Commercial Stores is a new team within the Universal Store (UST) team established to transform how we transact sales for our commercial customers by bringing together various resources and portals across UST and Microsoft. The desire is that by more directly serving this constituency and bringing together these disparate store, marketplaces, experiences and their commercial transaction models we will be able to provide a unified experience which enables broader engagement for 1st & 3rd party apps while also driving increased value to our application and services ecosystem. In this context we are focused on the delivery of a best of breed, delightful, easy to use, and seamless commercial store experience.

We’re looking for brilliant developers passionate about delighting our commercial customers and giving them the best user experience. We’re a new team created to deliver great cross-platform experiences for volume licensing customers, which account for more than half of Microsoft’s total revenue. And we’d like you along for the ride.

This position is for a self-motivated, talented, results-driven software engineer that wants to win. You’ll be working with a small team that collaborates with the engineers throughout Universal Store to create great UX for Microsoft’s multiple commercial customer segments across the globe. You’ll help drive delivery end-to-end, from design to validation by a customer. You’ll work with the latest cloud technologies: everything from Angular to Azure to micro services.

You must have excellent JavaScript and C# coding skills, understand web services, and have shipped features for large scale services for at least two end-to-end delivery cycles. You will also need strong collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience with Angular, Ember, Azure, and SQL will be a huge plus. Ideal candidates are passionate about customer experiences, creative thinkers, and act independently and proactively to solve hard problems.
