The Office Apple Productivity Experiences (Apex) team is an experienced and highly passionate team at Microsoft that builds and maintains end-to-end ownership of Office on Apple platforms. The combined power of the Office suite and the latest Mac and iOS technologies presents developers with exceptional opportunities for ownership, autonomy and professional growth. Our team has worked on Microsoft Office for Mac, Microsoft Lync for Mac, Office Mobile for iPhone, OneNote for iPhone and iPad, OneNote for Mac, and Office for iPad. We continuously strive to create industry-leading software. The last Mac Office release was described as a “spectacular success” by PC Magazine. The Mac OneNote 1.0 release went to #1 app in Apple’s App Store on its first day, with high ratings. Office for iPad is a great showcase of design and functionality and has gotten broad positive global press coverage. We are expanding our team and looking for highly motivated Software Engineers across all career stages with demonstrated experience in design and implementation leadership to join our world class team of application engineers. The team’s work is primarily in C++ and Objective-C with exposure to Cocoa and other rich technologies on Apple’s platforms.

Our development team tackles a wide variety of problems, from networking and web services to advanced graphics handling to leading edge UI design on Apple platforms; you can expect to build a wide range of skills and experiences.

Requirements:

• BS in computer science, or equivalent experience.
• Strong design and coding skills in at least one variant of C (C, C++, C#, Objective C, Swift).
• Motivated engineer who can learn quickly on an evolving set of technologies.
• Passion and commitment to delivering exceptional products and experiences.
• Good communication skills.

Additional skills that are not required but that would be immediately beneficial:

• Any Mac or iOS experience, including Objective C. Cross-Platform development.
• Large scale commercial software development.
• A wide range of technical domain specific expertise such as: User Interfaces, Graphics engines, Network protocols, Multithreading, OS fundamentals, Compilers, Performance, Security such as sandboxing, Telemetry, Multi-language functionality, Automation frameworks.
