The Azure Compute Organization is responsible for creating the foundation of Microsoft Cloud Platform for utility computing. This platform is one of the lowest levels of the services software/hardware stack and includes an efficient, virtualized computational substrate, a fully automated service management system, and a comprehensive set of highly scalable storage services. The Azure Compute Infrastructure Service team is looking for motivated engineers with a strong track record who are in search of an exciting environment, working with innovative and revolutionary technology, and interested in the boundary of software and hardware. The hardware validation platform is being used to automate the validation and delivery of all hardware for Azure and Edge, extending to other hardware across Microsoft.

The team is looking for developers interested in developing technology to secure, validate and manage the platform and want the chance to contribute to the fastest growing cloud platform on the market. Our vision is to evolve the Capacity Infrastructure Management Services to meet the ever-growing needs of a rapidly evolving platform. We are investing in the development, and application of technology to grow the capacity for all of Microsoft services. Additionally, the innovative technologies will be adopted as part of the overall Azure and Autopilot platform for all of Microsoft hardware.
Key responsibilities include interpreting designs into fully functional interactive experiences and contributing technical expertise throughout design stages and development.

The work involves:
o Delivery of a highly reliable, scalable
o Secure Capacity Infrastructure Management solution for 1st and 3rd party customers
o Validating and certifying the state of the hardware throughout the lifecycle - from acquisition through decommissioning
o Integration between various Azure and AutoPilot services to support Capacity growth
o Driving requirements to the Azure (AutoPilot, Fabric, Networking) and Edge (Bing, O365) teams

Basic Qualifications:
• 1+ years of experience commercial software development experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Solid computer science fundamentals and proven algorithm design capability.
• Experience working for a team that ships daily or weekly and runs cloud services will be a plus.
• BS in computer science and engineering; PhD and MS preferred or equivalence of years of working experience.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
