LinkedIn needs a talented, hard-charging UI-focused frontend engineer who can build flexible, maintainable user interfaces to help our system, network, and data center administrators keep up with our rapidly growing infrastructure. The Infrastructure Automation team builds inventory, configuration management, and monitoring tools for the teams and systems that underpin our production operations. We provide UIs, APIs and tools that let engineers across the company build automation to help us run faster and more efficiently.
You will own the front-end development for one or more of our internal products and collaborate with backend designers and product managers to launch new products, iterate on existing features, and build a world-class user experience for LinkedIn employees. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies and modern frameworks such as React and other modern UI frameworks. This position requires occasional (one week every two months or so) 12x7 on-call shifts.
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of experience developing with JavaScript 1+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of ECMAScript 2015 (ES6), CSS3 (CCSnext). Strong understanding of React. , Redux (Flux architecture). Strong knowledge of functional programming concepts. Experience with JavaScript unit testing (karma, mocha, chai). Knowledge of (and a passion for) current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance, security and usability. Familiarity and comfort with command-line applications, source control, testing frameworks and other aspects of developing in large, distributed software teams. Solid understanding of REST architecture principles Experience with backend scripting languages such as Python (preferred), Ruby, PHP or Perl Experience with Backbone. or any other JS MVC/MV* frameworks Experience with modern JavaScript tooling such as Webpack, NPM, PostCSS, CSS Modules Database experience (MySQL preferred)
