Software Engineer


Position Description

This position will offer the opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic and growing industry. Our software engineers are organized into small teams, working directly with architects and product managers to develop state of the art healthcare products in a highly evolving agile environment. Our engineers share the responsibility of building applications and services that are usable, maintainable, and ultimately scalable to meet user demand. Our engineers have a wide ranging interest in different areas of software development and the software development life cycle. The key responsibilities for this role are to:  
  • Contribute substantially to design, implement, test, and maintain complex systems, quickly getting up to speed on relevant product areas with some direction
  • Exercise judgment to achieve defined objectives and recognize when external input is beneficial
  • Consistently apply knowledge to solve engineering problems of varying complexity and scope
  • Demonstrate leadership in code and product direction  
  • Proactively volunteer for efforts that help achieve the team’s goals

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements

4+ years experience in software engineering

Critical Skills

  • At least 4 years total of active development using C# with the .NET Framework in the candidate’s most recent positions.
  • High level of facility with C# development fundamentals and core language concepts.
  • A good understanding of OOP principles.
  • Experience using WCF, ASP.NET WebForms and MVC or Web API.
  • Experience with and understanding of web development technologies and concepts such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, JSON and REST.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Experience building unit tests, preferably using TDD.
  • Experience building queries in SQL, preferably PL/SQL.
  • Experience using source control, preferably Subversion.
  • Experience deploying software on the Windows platform both standalone and through IIS.


Additional Knowledge & Skills
  • Experience working with AngularJS.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry and development of healthcare software
  • Experience with cloud development and best practices.
  • C++ development experience on the .NET platform.
  • Experience using XSLT
  • Experience with and understanding of software design and architecture using DI (dependency injection) containers such as Castle Windsor.
  • Experience with Tibco Businessworks and EMS.
  • Experience using Oracle and ODP.NET
  • Experience using JIRA
  • Experience with Windows Installer Technology (MSI) and building software installation packages.
  • Experience with TeamCity and continuous integration.
  • Experience with Powershell.

Education

4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
