Pitney Bowes Seeks an Advisory Software Engineer
You'll be developing the core platform for the fastest growing product line in a Fortune 500 company. You'll have the opportunity to work on a high-performing, cross-functional team delivering enterprise-class software. You'll work out of our office in Austin, Texas. You'll bring a track record of successful Java projects with recent hands-on development experience and a passion for delivering great products.
The purpose of the Advisory Software Engineer is to write great code, lead teams through complex design and development tasks, assisting the team in development effort estimates and then meeting the commitments, meeting high quality standards and client expectations. The Advisory Software Engineer works within our Agile-Scrum framework to write high-quality applications and builds solutions consistent with architecture standards and an emphasis on usability and user experience best practices. Working with Product Architects, Project Managers, and other Engineering leaders is also essential to the job.
Hands-on Java development experience.
UI development for Web and Windows
Knowledge of object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture.
Experience with IoC (Spring source libraries), multi-threaded programming, and concurrent libraries.
Experience with Java REST or SOAP web services.
Experience with Relational, Document, or Graph databases.
At least five years of experience in hands-on software development.
Knowledge of distributed computing, message based systems (JMS, etc.), JNI, O/R mapping, Maven build system, and Aspect Oriented Programming.
Experience with Agile methodologies and concepts, including Scrum, continuous integration, and automated testing.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field preferred
