The Systems Management team is responsible for all configuration management and monitoring functions of Data Domain systems. This includes things such as; user interface applications, monitoring daemons to watch hardware and software, alert/alarm mechanisms, Access Control, Database Configuration and Access Functions, SNMP, design and development of management interfaces, services to manipulate configurations, and capabilities to plug-in to third party management frameworks.
This team has an immediate need for a software engineer. In this critical role, you will:
-Design, develop and maintain features within the Data Domain System Management team
-Write design specifications for new features related to Systems Management.
-Participate in architecture discussions and reviews.
-Work with other team members to determine, support, and qualify future requirements.
-Support QA and SE on product verification and customer qualifications
**The skills and experience that would make you a good fit:**
-Experience with C/C++ on any flavor of UNIX
-Good knowledge of protocols such as TCP/IP, Sockets, RPC
-Good knowledge of User Security Mechanisms (Authentication, Authorization, Audit)
-System Debugging design and implementation
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
-Critical to be a team player who likes to work in a high energy atmosphere
-MS or equivalent industry experience
**Desired Qualifications and Skills:**
-Experience with Java, XML, Perl, Python,and/or Bison
-Authentication protocols development experience (Unix authentication, NIS, LDAP, AD, PAM programming, etc.)
-Knowledge or experience with product security (SSL and SSH, trusts, certificates and keys concept and management, Kerberos, UNIX security)
-Familiarity with vulnerability scanners (STIG, Qualys, Saint, Nessus, Retina, etc.)
