The School Data Sync team is looking for an experienced engineer who is passionate about bringing the power of Windows and Office 365 to K-12 schools all over the world. You have heard Satya speak of Microsoft’s commitment to transforming education and empowering students and teachers to create their future fueled by Microsoft technology. Here is your chance to be a part of it! Even better, you will be personally responsible for winning market share in K-12 Education in the US through the product we are building. Specifically, you are going to make it automatic and trivial for School IT to turn every school into an Office 365 School, with every teacher and student getting instant access to any Office365 workload like Teams and OneNote. This requires engineering directory mirroring (students and teachers), groups (classes and schools), device hierarchy, profiles, identity management and federation, licensing, School Information Systems (SIS) integration, and eventually, migrating customers onto O365 exclusively. This critical, strategic product effort needs you!

This position is highly technical, and the successful candidate is expected to drive design and architecture, write code, to seek out and solve customer and implementation problems without significant guidance, and to leverage the technology and APIs available to you from both Microsoft and external sources to deliver a seamless O365 enablement engine. Successful candidates will love learning new tech on the fly, and relentlessly pursuing solutions that serve customers.

Our team is small, passionate, focused, and operates like a startup. You’ll work alongside other EDU-focused engineers building School Data Sync, EDU APIs, analytics, and platform tools, etc. Our team wallows in customer needs and success as the fundamental anchor for everything we do - so you will know your customer when you join our team! If this sounds like an environment you’d like to be a part of, then come join us!

Required Qualifications:
• 5 years experience in software, C++/C#/Java
• Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in designing, implementing and shipping commercial software services which address complex engineering challenges
• Specific experience crafting cloud services in Azure preferable, with experience using Microsoft Graph and Google Apps APIs desirable.
• Ability to partner broadly across teams and drive architectural coherence and alignment
• Ability to engage customers, understand their needs, and represent Microsoft with customers
• The ability to design and write secure, reliable & maintainable code, and to test & debug it in partnership with cross-company engineering teams

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
