The Device Security team in the Core Operating Systems Group is looking for a talented, creative and driven SDE2 to push the security bar of Microsoft devices to a new level. The device Security’s mission is to make the PCs, Phones and Xbox the most secure and trustworthy consumer computing devices in the world. This team owns the Microsoft device security strategy and we are focused on building the state of art security system for Microsoft’s next operating system, spanning across all devices.

As part of this team you will be working on a V1 product Windows Defender Application Guard that aims to protect malwares and computer viruses from taking over the host Operating System and enterprise and consumer networks. In addition to a lot of design and coding opportunities, you will be expected to ramp up on Windows internals and various technologies quickly and to collaborate with many teams within Microsoft.

We are looking for talented individuals that have a proven track record in software development and shipping secure software. If you love challenging technical problems, this is the job for you. The ideal candidate will have:

• Excellent C/C++ programming skills

• Solid design, coding, debugging and problem-solving skills

• Solid verbal and written communication skills

• Experience with multiple complete ship cycles for commercial products

• Ability to deal with ambiguity

• Solid cross group collaboration skills

Basic Qualifications:

1+ year of experience developing software in C/C++

A BS/MS in computer science or math or science

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of computer security

• Experience running online services (ideally IIS/

• Knowledge of the Windows Operating system Internals

• Experience working with kernel, hypervisor, Remote Desktop Protocol, core Networking or browsers
