Have you dreamed of a world where compute is infinitely and readily available? Imagine harnessing the horsepower of billions of virtual machines which can serve millions of multiplayer gaming sessions, host services with the scale of Bing and Skype, or solve large computational problems in seconds - all available anywhere, anytime on any device. Do you want to be a part of the team that is making this dream a reality? If so, then Azure Compute Manager is the right place for you.
On the Azure Compute Manager team, we build the “kernel” of the Microsoft Cloud. Our control infrastructure for hosting cloud applications is a fault-tolerant distributed system that runs on commodity datacenter hardware. We optimize the consumption of compute cores across Microsoft datacenters while creating an illusion for our customers that resources are limitless, infinitely elastic, and always available. We value a bias for action and keen analysis of real-word failure scenarios. An ideal candidate will have familiarity with design and development of highly available large-scale distributed systems. Experience with online services is a big plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
•Fluency in C#, C++ or Java
•Proven problem-solving, design, and debugging skills
•Hands-on experience with multi-threaded, asynchronous, and systems programming
•Familiarity with distributed computing consensus and failure detection algorithms
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Basic Qualifications:
•3+ years of commercial software development experience
