Are you passionate about building services at large scale that serve millions of customers? Are you motivated by enabling scenarios to make people more productive and collaborate at work? The Collaboration Services team is building a set of services to power office collaboration scenarios, including Office Collaboration Services (OCS), Recommended Documents, web notification, and services for other emerging scenarios.

These services work together with the office apps to provide great collab experiences, and improve user collab engagements. Google compete is the top priority of the office org, and our team is an critical part of mission!

Specifically, our team is currently working on: OCS service is the key component that allows 50+ users to simultaneously edit in the same word/excel/PowerPoint document, with content changes propagating from end to end in a couple of seconds. Recommend Docs service brings user attention to the top-ranked documents in office.com and the file open UI, to facilitate effective async collaboration on documents.

We’re also investigating and prototyping on other scenarios to bring documents to more communication channels, as a part of the long-term office vision. We’re looking for passionate engineers who enjoy building at scale services that enable interesting office scenarios. Our team is primarily a backend service team, using C# and GIT, building on top of platforms like office online, substrate, azure.

The candidate should have:

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

•Solid design and problem-solving skills, with a strong bias for engineering excellence at scale.

•Strong software programming skills in C#, Java, or C++.

•2+ year experience software engineering experience

•1+ year experience developing and running web services at scale.
