Who are we? We are the Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) Team. Our development team is responsible for all software components in the Windows Platform which are critical for current releases of Xbox, Surface, IoT, and the Windows Family (PCs, Phones, and Servers). Our goal is to deliver WaaS as a competitive advantage for Microsoft and the ecosystem. We are building efficient, reliable and scalable engineering systems and processes so that we can directly improve device quality and customer experiences via updates, minimize partner cost, reduce OEM time to market, and adapt to changing environments. The customer’s experience with Windows is our primary focus and passion. We believe customer delight is the priority in the success of Windows. We are building systems and services to deliver Updates to every Windows device in the world. As the position is one of software engineer, an ability to code is a base requirement. Past experience with Win32, C++ and C# is required. You will be joining a group of very talented engineers here in Redmond.

You will play a key role developing software for keeping our customer base secure, improving the reliability of the platform, addressing customer reported issues, building data insights and developing features to light up new scenarios/devices in the Windows ecosystem. Also, you will be expected to be an advocate and driver for quality across the entire system. You will also be expected to become well versed in the customer needs of the product. How do customers use the product? What do they need it to do? What are the most valuable aspects of the product to the customer? Finally, we want someone with a driving passion about Windows Update.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of software development experience

Qualifications for this position include:

• Love of systems technology is a must-have!
• Programming skills in C#, C++
• Fantastic problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Creative and innovative thinking
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
