As the availability of data and the demand for analysis grows, Microsoft also increases its need for highly reliable and capably data analysis functionalities which can internal stakeholders across the C+E Division to make informed decisions about their Cloud offerings and the Enterprise customer experience. Microsoft’s Biz Ops Data Analytics team is responsible to identify, source, and analyze new data to determine key information on customer behavior, system performance, or financial results to drive operational excellence. The results of these analyses are critical to Microsoft’s ability to make informed data-driven decision marking and deliver improvements in customer health and satisfaction which are consistent with those results. In addition to that, the D&A team analyze and address unplanned events for Enterprise customers, including billing errors, SIEs (Service Impacting Events), credits and mass communication. The team also builds a publisher portal for Azure Marketplace to enable self-service capability for payout recon and seller insights report. We are looking for strong Software Engineer who are passionate about data analysis and cloud services. You will help analyze and design models for ensuring data integrity, anomalies detection, prototyping models for detecting unbilled usage (Revenue Leakage), and build cutting edge systems, algorithms and tools to detect and investigate data integrity and anomalies in Azure. This is role will be instrumental in driving down the EA billing error rate and responsible to introduce new data integrity checks to uncover new scenarios and analyze the pattern of issues to derive insights for permanent fix. This role requires extensive collaboration with UST team and Billing team to ensure revenue leakage and billing anomalies are addressed to enable more accurate billing and no revenue left on the table (RLOT). This person should own rerating of all EA enrollments for every month end closure and publish the billing anomalies report to billing team to ensure customers are not overcharged as it has direct impact to CSAT/CPE. You’ll need a balance of technical and business acumen in order to frame broad issues & risks in a compelling manner for decision makers. The ideal candidate will have:
• Support execution and operational improvements of the Azure BG.
• Enable automation to eliminate manual process.
• Help drive insights into engineering and other parts of the Azure business.
• Define and implement effective key performance indicators (KPIs) and other measurements to ensure business impact.
• Gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify meaningful actions.
• Design and drive implementation of reporting by interfacing with business, engineering, finance, operations, and systems teams to provide actionable insights.
• Deliver on ambiguous projects with multiple stakeholders, unclear requirements and incomplete data
• 6+ years of experience in applied data analysis
• Has solid experience in SQL Server, Big data technologies like Hadoop, Cosmos, Avocado, MapReduce, HDFS, H Base, Hive, Spark and Sqoop
• Also design, coding, debugging, time management, communication skills are essential.
• Nice to know: C#, ASP.Net RESTful web services.
