Description
Test Design, Development & Execution
  • Develop use cases and test cases in order to validate the software meets requirements.
  • Review and test requirements to ensure they meet the needs of the development team.
  • Able to perform team testing activities as defined by the Kronos software development process.
  • Develop and execute software test plans using both automated and manual testing to ensure products meet design specifications and are within the specified quality standards
  • Learning to use formal software QA methodologies to design product test environments that emulate typical customer use, configuration and loads.
  • Adheres to methods, programs and procedures adopted by engineering
  • Learning to use test standards, procedures and functional specifications for test approaches
  • Execute both UI and API testing to validate appropriate functioning of the product.

    Project
  • Participates in related projects, programs and business initiatives in the area of expertise using demonstrated knowledge and experience in quality methods
  • Learning how to estimate work using within the team, through usage of standard concepts & principles requiring sound judgment & interpretation

    Domain Analysis
  • Keeps self updated on latest trends within the quality assurance discipline and leverages the same in day to day work

    Team
  • Communicates with product management, quality analysts & engineers, product developers and technical support specialists on product or customer issues to develop testing strategies and development of stories.
  • Consults with scrum masters, product owners, program managers, development engineers in resolution of problems

    Organization
  • Supports process improvement initiatives

    Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Two plus years experience in Software Testing/Software Quality Assurance, relational databases, automation & programming or equivalent experience
  • Strong organization skills
  • System Development processes tools and methodologies (preferably Scrum and Agile)
  • Testing Approaches & Concepts - e.g. Testing through Application Programming Interface (API), selecting the appropriate approach, Black / Grey / White Box test approaches etc
  • Different types of tests - unit tests, volume tests, compatibility tests, bandwidth tests, integration tests, web-stress tests, system tests etc
  • Design & Development of Automation frameworks (including Automation testing tools, open source tools & scripting languages)
  • Software n-tier platforms (like Windows / UNIX / Apache / ibis) and databases (like Oracle, DB2, MSSQL, Sybase)
  • Installation, Deployment, & Configuration of Test Environments
  • Documentation (of test reports / test strategies / test plans / test cases / test reports / bug tracking tools)
  • Previous experience with automated tools (Selenium, RESTAssured, UFT, QTP, SoapUI, etc) a plus
  • Prior experience with Workforce Management (WFM) or other related business applications a plus.
