Join a leader in the wholesale insurance industry. The location is in Charlotte, North Carolina and has expertise across a diversified mix of property, casualty and group benefits products.

Their primary growth engine over the last several years has been through acquisition of smaller, specialty firms that will continue to add to suite of services. In order to continually support the growth, the company is looking to bring in a Solutions Engineer with a wide range of network/infrastructure experience to aid in the support of their growing environment.

Specifically this individual will be responsible for 3-5 projects at a time associated with many of their important initiatives over the next several months. The way that the environment is set up is that 4 solutions engineers report into the director each with a specialized skill set (VMware, Network, Cloud, DR) and those people lead the efforts internally to drive projects associated with those areas. As the company continues to grow the Director is looking to bring on an indvidual with a wider range of technical experience leading/architecting a broad scope of network/infrastructure initiatives so that they can work effectively with people in multiple groups rather than just a specialized skill set.

Specific projects that this person would be involved in would be different types of Data Center initiatives. DC moves, DC rehosting, DC rebuilds would all be types of projects that will fall in this candidates portfolio. Other initiatives that would fall into this scope are Cloud initiative projects, Security and DR projects and Application colsolidation initiatives.

TOP SKILLS:

1. Experience leading or architecting technically driven projects - Looking for candidates with a specific technical background outside of being hands on technical. They do need to have some type of expertise in a technical capacity (network, VMware, Systems, Citrix, etc.) but have experience managing/leading projects across a broad technical scope that may touch multiple technologies in an environment.

2. Knowledge of how network/infrastructure environments are set up. Looking for basic/conceptual knowledge of the logistics that go into setting up an environment and migrating an entire network/systems environment into another.

3. Data Center or Cloud experience - Many of the projects thats in que that will involve coordinating with a number of the technical groups are around Data Center and Cloud initiatives. Examples would be Data Center moves, DC consolidations, Cloud implementations, as well as Disaster Recovery in the Cloud.
