*Prepares patients for examinations and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physician to be performed.
*Performs basic ultrasound procedures in assigned specialty service area utilizing a variety of equipment and techniques in accordance with established clinical practice standards, guidelines and protocols.
*Interacts with physicians, staff, family and patient to develop and implement the plan of care.
*Performs the routine maintenance on the equipment and ensure the exam room is orderly and clean between patients.
*Ensures the proper labeling of ultrasound recordings.
*Communicates clinical findings and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Performs non-clinical support tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an AMA approved program for Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology and six (6) months full-time equivalent employment as a Registered Sonographer in one or more of the primary specialty areas.
*Licensure: Meet American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registry requirements and published standards as a fully credentialed sonographer in one or more of the specialty areas (Diagnostic, Cardiac, or Non-Invasive Vascular).
