Current Need
As McKesson continues to leverage spend on an enterprise-wide scale, strategic sourcing and category/supplier management are critical aspects of the corporate strategy.  McKesson has launched an Enterprise Sourcing and Business Optimization organization to drive world-class results.  A Manager of Contingent Labor is a strategic position supporting Enterprise Sourcing leadership team to develop category strategies, design sourcing plans, coordinate negotiations, implement contracts, and drive successful supplier relationships. This role is a part of a high performing sourcing team that can execute on those strategies. A Manager of Enterprise Sourcing is also responsible for ensuring strong alignment with, and becoming a trusted advisor to, key functional and BU stakeholders.  

Position Description
  • Lead Contingent labor category end-to-end, from developing an overarching strategy to identifying ways to enhance activities for each individual Business Unit
  • Constantly assess category scope and daily activities to identify areas of improvement and automation leading to elimination or  redistribution of tactical and administrative tasks
  • Partner closely with MSP and VMS on improving program’ effectiveness and efficiency
  • Build and implement Supplier Relationship Management program. Create and lead periodic supplier business reviews. Drive performance issues to a complete resolution
  • Manage sourcing activities using advanced sourcing levers (RFI/RFPs, demand management, supplier relationship management, supplier workshops, total cost of ownership analyses etc) as part of a multi-year sourcing pipeline plan to drive total value, including cost savings and supplier innovation, for McKesson
  • Orchestrate contract development between McKesson and suppliers.  Lead negotiation of business terms and conditions.  Mitigate legal and commercial risk for McKesson. Ensure alignment between legal terms and category and procurement objectives
  • Develop category strategies based on best practices, including supply market analyses, Porter’s Five Forces, should-cost models, process and domain expertise
  • Conduct analysis of qualitative and quantitative characteristics, including suppliers’ capabilities, operational objectives, risk profile, and financial positioning
  • Drive corporate compliance to the preferred-supplier program via end-user change management and communications programs
  • Work closely with MSP and Procurement Operations  teams to manage day-to-day operational support for select programs to ensure high levels of end user satisfaction
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key functional and BU stakeholders; work with those stakeholders to deliver project activities with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Work closely with Enterprise Sourcing leadership team and business unit/function stakeholders to deliver against the long-term vision and near-term strategy
  • Drive change and behavior through influence, not mandate
  • Implement leading sourcing practices for diversity, environmental sustainability and supplier code of conduct
  • Demonstrate impeccable ethics and fully support McKesson ICARE principles
  • Lead category reporting in the areas of spend, savings, supplier performance metrics
  • Serve as liaison to Finance, AP, Legal, HR, Business Units, ER and other groups to ensure internal reporting meets the needs of the stakeholders

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
5+ years experience in areas such as product management, purchasing, marketing/sales, and or finance

Critical Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous experience of building and managing VMS/MSP programs and providers
  • 6+ years of sourcing experience; at least 5 in Contingent Labor/Staffing/Consulting to include developing and negotiating contracts
  • Knowledge of labor laws
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including assertiveness, courage, and the ability to influence others
  • Excellent relationship management skills, demonstrating mature confidence and integrity
  • Business analysis skills to drive and implement sourcing aligned with the stakeholders’ strategies

Additional Knowledge & Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, both as a lead and as a part of a team
  • Ability to work in a team environment to collate and act upon feedback from all levels within the business and sourcing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities of business partners in a complex, multi-business unit environment
  • Expertise in eRFX, contract and analytics tools
  • Analytical, planning and strategic skills
  • Proven project management including business case development, conflict management, written and verbal presentation skills
  • eRFx and eProcurement/P2P experience is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • SAP SRM, Ariba, or similar technology solution experience preferred
  • Prior experience partnering with staffing vendors such as Pontoon and Beeline

Education
4-year degree in business, finance, marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience
