Amgen is looking for a Specialist Manufacturing that will be responsible for much of the business office responsibilities supporting Epogen® (EPO) commercial manufacturing at Thousand Oaks B7. The position will require the ability to manage multiple different projects and assignments and provide a broad range of administrative support for the manufacturing team, including business continuity, budgeting, plant and quality systems metrics and risk management. The Specialist Manufacturing will also play a key role in the governance process for plant leadership and safety.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide general project management support for process and non-process related changes
Work with the plant management team to roll out new initiatives utilizing operational excellence and project management tools
Facilitate collaboration between the finance organization and manufacturing management on manufacturing plant budget development and monitoring
Implement and own the Business Continuity, Crisis Management and Risk Management programs for the manufacturing department
Facilitate plant metrics development, coordination and presentation for the leadership team to monitor the health of the processes and drive improvements
Coordinate the implementation of Amgen's Lean Transformation and operational excellence in a new manufacturing organization
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree
Master's degree and 3 years of Manufacturing, Quality, Project Management or Engineering experience
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Manufacturing, Quality, Project Management or Engineering experience
Associate's degree and 10 years of Manufacturing, Quality, Project Management or Engineering experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Manufacturing, Quality, Project Management or Engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of related manufacturing experience
3+ years of experience in project management
MBA degree
Project management certification (PMP)
Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
Project management and presentation skills
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies
Experience with risk analysis or crisis management
