Specialty Pharmacy Associate

Position Summary:
As a Specialty Pharmacy Associate, you will be responsible for enrolling new patients, answering inbound calls and making outbound calls to patients, doctor’s offices and insurance companies. Additionally, the Specialty Pharmacy Associate will be responsible for verifying insurance coverage, initiating and following up on prior authorization requests for new patients and for existing patients in order to comply with patient needs. As part of our pharmacy team, you will be providing customer care in a high-paced call center environment. This position will also require working in other areas of the pharmacy including but not limited to fulfillment, shipping, and other duties as assigned based on business needs and as deemed appropriate.

Shifts rotate between 7am-7pm Monday – Friday. Flexible working hours are essential.

Additional responsibilities of the Pharmacy Associate include:
Utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills to correspond with patients, doctors, and insurance companies
Working in a team environment
Utilizing basic math skills

Required Qualifications:
6 months of customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working with prior authorization
Prior experience working in benefit investigation
Prior experience working in a call center
Prior experience working in a healthcare setting
Prior experience working in customer service
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB)

Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
