SPECIMEN PROCESSING CLERK - LABORATORY - FULL TIME NIGHTS


JOB SUMMARY:
Specimen Processing Clerk is responsible for receiving specimens into the laboratory, processing the specimens as they arrive, to include centrifugation and aliquoting, proper labeling of aliquots and delivery of specimens to their respective departments. Additionally, this position is responsible for the proper labeling, preparation and shipping of specimens to approved referral laboratories. Ensure that reports from referral specimens are posted, entered in the computer and billed, if applicable, in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
High School graduate or G.E.D.


Experience:
Work experience in a clinical laboratory hospital setting performing referral or specimen processing ppreferred.
Will consider training motivated applicants who lack specific experience.


Skills:
-Excellent verbal communication skills
-Excellent customer service related skills
-Computer skills and attention to detail necessary to accuately enter all pertinent specimen information in the computer, such as collection information, specimen receipt time sand test results.
-Ability to take direction and work as a team, towards a common goal with tother employees
-Ability to organize and prioritize workload
-Ability to perform and learn data entry tasks
-Ability to accurately document basic computer service related communication
-Ability to keep patient care top priority at all times

Licensure:
Licensed by State of Nevada as Laboratory Assistant or fully eligible if not already possessing.
