Speech Language Pathologist - Part Time
Supports the mission of the hospital to provide patients with the highest quality of healthcare in a caring atmosphere. The Speech/Language Pathologist is responsible for evaluating, planning, directing and administering interventions of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Assists patients to obtain their maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a "normal" life within the constraints of their disability. Responsible for ongoing re-assessments of patients and the discharge planning/summary. The Speech/Language Pathologist coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff. Assists in scheduling of patient visits for speech pathology evaluation and treatments. Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in PI activities. Provides input with evaluating department performance versus budget controls and take appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines. Ensures that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis. Promotes teamwork with physicians and other departments. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
Graduate of an accredited school of Speech/Language Pathology
Current licensure by the State of Georgia.
Strong communication skills in both oral and written format. Ability to problem-solve, and seek assistance from team members when necessary. Knowledge of principals and practice of speech pathology. Basic computer knowledge.
