Speech/Language Pathologist - Part Time

Position: Speech Therapist - Part Time Days
The staff speech/language pathologist is responsible for the evaluation, assessment and treatment of a wide variety of adult patients, including, but not limited to patients with: Neurological, cardiac, and other medical conditions in the areas of acute, sub-acute, rehabilitation and out patient speech/language pathology. The staff speech/language pathologist is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients with suspected speech, language, cognitive, communicative and swallowing impairments.
The staff speech/language pathologist must evaluate and treat patients in accordance with the rules and regulations of this facility, the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), and the State of Nevada, Board of Professional Regulations. The staff speech/language pathologist must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and assess and interpret data reflective of the patients' medical status and age specific needs, in order to provide the appropriate care, as described in the department's policies and procedures. The staff speech/language pathologist will provide goal directed treatment program planning, implementation and modification, as well as related documentation and communication of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations, without regard to race, color, sex, religion, or national origin.

Education: MS or MA Speech Pathology
Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from American Language Speech & Hearing Assoc.
Licensure: State of Nevada Board of Examination for Audiology and Speech Pathology
Experience: One to two year in hospital or Rehab setting preferred. CFY will be considered with exceptional clinical affiliation experience. Experience with swallowing evaluations (MBS and FEES) are required. Training or practicum in areas of aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, cognitive deficits, dysphagia, neurological/disorders, cleft palate and voice disorders is required.
