**Job Description:** The Advisor, Solution Architecture role (L4) provides technical and/or business consultative leadership during the pre-sales and/or post-sales cycle. Provides technical or business analytical leadership for specific product groups or business objectives in order to engage the customer or implement and maintain an engagement. Works closely with Operations to develop and enforce best practices within the Storage Infrastructure. An opportunity exists for an Advisor, Solution Architecture (SAN and NAS) to join Virtustream's Managed Services Organization. The successful candidate will assist with managing and maintaining an Enterprise customer’s Storage Infrastructure as part of a domestic group providing Incident, Change and Problem Management.

This role will require the candidate to be part of a formal support rotation and it should be additionally noted that out of hours on-call efforts will be required as part of incident support and delivering project responsibilities, specifically to implement changes that necessitate impact to Customer production. Initial travel will be required for training purposes.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Development of strategies, policies and best practices through participation in management meetings and other direct contributions. Planning and executing firmware upgrades, verifying that the code levels are compatible with the environment, and ensuring minimal disruptions. Involved with Capacity Planning from a usage, utilization and performance perspective. Develops and cultivates strong customer relationships ensuring a ''Customers for Life'' relationship. May hold responsibility for achieving the Dell EMC/Virtustream Bar of Excellence as the highest level of Customer Satisfaction for every customer. Adheres to proper escalation and change control procedures. Stays current on technical specifications for hardware/software requirements of Dell EMC and industry products and solutions through professional associations, trade journals, networking, and associated training and seminars. Supports the design and development of the technical content defined in the statement of work. Designs the Dell EMC/Virtustream solution and supports the installation, customization, and integration of the solution. Prepares technical architectural and implementation design documents and works with the project management to develop the implementation plan. Works closely with the project management to define project deliverables and schedules. Helps to identify and leverage Dell EMC/Virtustream and partner resources in order to satisfy the technical needs and objectives of the implementation. Participates, as needed, as a technical expert in the pre-sales qualification and is responsible for the delivery of the technical architectural design, strategies and plans that will be a delivered in the engagement. May be responsible for the creation of proposals that address current and evolving client requirements. Participates in requirements gathering for project engagements. Leads project quality assurance activities, including performing technical reviews on components for a team and performing reviews of code documentation. EMC Proven Professional Certification desired.

SKILLS Expert Operational knowledge of key storage technologies to include DMX, VMAX, Clariion, VNX, Unity, Isilon, Dell EqualLogic and NetApp Expert Operational knowledge of SAN infrastructure technologies to include Cisco SAN switches 5+ yrs of Solutions Architect experience supporting complex and fast changing large Storage Environments Complex problem solving and troubleshooting Mentoring operations personnel Knowledge of file storage protocols and IP Networking at a high level Building processes, procedures, best practices. Experience expanding frames within the environment. Will be working on the code upgrades, interfacing with the customer and executive sponsors, verify that the code levels will interact with the environment and capacity planning (usage, utilization and performance) Customer focused Strong problem solving experience required. Ability to influence others to achieve results. Organizational skills. Analytical ability. Strong technical aptitude. Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments. Cross-Functional skill. Communication skills. Knowledge of the technical aspects of hardware/software subject matter. Understanding of ITIL principles and processes.
