Roles and Responsibilities:

The Agile Coach (Voice and Data Networking) is responsible for championing, governing, scaling, and measuring the Agile framework within the Network Services group at Capital one. Coaches and mentors Agile teams and serves as the “Agile Coach” for the network group. The focus of this position is to evangelize Agile values and principles across the organization and to strengthen maturity around Agile as a framework and a mindset.

- Develops, implements, and promotes Agile best practices and standards across the enterprise and Agile teams. Drives the organization-wide Agile adoption strategy and rollout plans.

- Provide solutions for scaling agile across projects, programs and portfolios and improve Application delivery.

- Create role based training plans and success measures. Support development of internal and external training content, budget and calendars.

- Agile Coach for both teams and individual role players (Product Manager, Product Owner, Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer, etc.) at various levels of the organization (portfolio, program, delivery) towards improving Agile process and metrics.

- Lead/participate in Agile Transformation Team and Communities of Practice.

- Evaluate and mentor existing Scrum teams, and deliver training classes for product owners, scrum masters and delivery team members.

- Collaborate with executive leadership team on forming and organizing of Agile projects and teams.

- Challenge the status quo. Support existing teams in removing cultural/ process impediments and fosters a lean mindset.

- Participates in the hiring and career development of Agile team members

- Collaborates with Learning and Development department on Agile training and education.

- Collaborates with PMO to ensure metrics and team measurements are aligned with Agile practices and principles. Develop, implement and manage team metrics, evaluate team metrics and make recommendations to teams and management for improvements.

- Fosters continuous improvement by the identification and escalation of organizational impediments.

- Facilitates organizational learning via a variety of feedback loops and retrospective findings to foster continuous improvement.

- Define Agile maturity roadmaps for teams and the broader organization.

- Partner with the Leadership team on driving cultural change and fostering agile champions throughout the organization.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Communication: Effectively communicates using written, oral, non-verbal, and active listening skills. Has the ability to clearly present an idea or concept so others understand, lets others speak, and engages productively in difficult conversations while upholding our ethical values.

Travel may be required.

- Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

- At least 4 years’ experience with Agile software development methodologies, namely Scrum and/or Kanban.

- At least 3 years’ experience as an Agile Coach and consultant.

- At least 3 years’ experience leading Scaled Agile (SAFE) framework based transformations  

- 5 years’ information technology experience (Network infrastructure, AWS/Cloud)

- 5 years’ experience as a Coach standing up and coaching teams.

- 4 years’ experience with Agile software development methodologies, namely Scrum and/or Kanban.

- Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)

- Scaled Agilist (SA)

- Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC)

- 2 years’ DevOps experience (build automation, test automation, test driven development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Development (CD), Infrastructure as code, etc.)
