JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the procurement and acquisition of goods and services for Nationwide that deliver near-term sourcing value and work to enhance processes and drive efficiency. Consult and advise business units or functions on the acquisition of goods and services of basic complexity across one or multiple domains (categories). Support Strategic Sourcing with the competitive bid process, develop contracts according to procurement policy and manage standard contract execution.
RELATIONSHIP: Reports to the Manager. No direct or indirect reports. Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships across Supply Management functions and with business unit stakeholders to ensure alignment of business unit and sourcing strategy objectives for designated domain(s).
+ Support Strategic Sourcing on all aspects of assigned domains (categories) to include prioritization, contract renewals, benchmarking and industry research.
+ Advise and guide business unit(s) with the development of standard agreements, change orders and amendments to existing contracts.
+ Support Strategic sourcing with all aspects of basic RFP(X) (i.e. requests for information, proposals and/or quotes), including development of scoring grids, financial analysis, template population, issue/receive, and supplier research.
+ Execute basic RFP(X) (i.e. requests for information, proposals and/or quotes) with pre-defined suppliers based on business unit funding in order to optimize the purchase of products and services.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Undergraduate degree in business, finance or related field preferred.
Experience: Two to four years experience in procurement, supplier/account management; or equivalent professional experience in other closely related industries.
Knowledge: Broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of supply chain management or other related industry. Knowledge of the Enterprise structure and business objectives.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and math skills required in order to negotiate with suppliers. Ability to work in project teams towards a common objective. Proficiency in common office software like Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to conduct accurate research.

Overtime Eligibility: Not eligible (Exempt).
Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Extended periods of personal computer use and report/information verification. Occasional overtime and non-standard hours based on business and information needs.
