Risk Management - Insurance Programs

The Senior Analyst - Insurance Programs will report to the Director - Risk Management & Insurance and will have responsibility for day-to-day activities related to all insurance programs as well as responsibility for management of certain insurance programs. This position requires excellent communications and interpersonal skills as well as extremely strong computer skills, including the ability to analyze large quantities of data. The job also requires a person with an inquiring mind and strong analytical skills to question processes and promote streamlined ways of managing Verizon’s various risks. This position will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Manage and handle all aspects of one or more of the following insurance programs: Crime & Fidelity, Inland Marine/Ocean Transit, Aircraft, West Street Package Policy, and renewal of various Copyright and Music Licenses.
  • Assist the managers in renewing Verizon’s main global insurance programs, including gathering exposure data and loss information and preparing presentations summarizing the data for the renewal submission. The Senior Analyst will consolidate information for $15 billion in payroll, 160,000 employees, 30,000 automobiles, $200 billion in property values and 70,000 locations, as well as request other exposure information from numerous Verizon subsidiaries.

  • Check all insurance documentation for accuracy and suggest changes where necessary

  • Negotiate insurance budgets with subsidiary companies

  • Manage collection of annual broker disclosure compliance letters

  • Populate data into Risk Management Information Systems and query periodically for reporting purposes

  • Maintain the Risk Management intranet website

  • Produce data for the Primary and Excess Casualty annual audits

  • Work with several outside contractors and insurance brokers in accomplishing Risk Management objectives

  • Develop and update historical data on all programs and track receipt of billing and documentation related to programs’ placement

  • Serve as the primary contact within Risk Management for leases, vendor & supplier contract reviews in order to ensure adequate protection for the company

  • Coordinate all physical and virtual policy storage

  • Provide support to M&A activity or special projects

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent work experience
  • Exceptional computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access and proficiency in G-suite
  • Ability to gather and analyze large quantities of data using various tools
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Strong social interaction skills
  • Ability to work through issues/problems and execute on deliverables

Even better if you have:

  • Experience in a corporate risk management department, commercial insurance brokerage firm or related position
  • Master's in Business Administration or professional certification (e.g. ARM, CPCU, CPA, CFA).
